Born Under a Curse - The full life story of Túrin

Túrin was born in the First Age in the land of Dor-lómin, the son of Húrin Thalion, a mighty lord of Men, and Morwen Eledhwen, a proud and noblewoman descended from the House of Bëor. His life was doomed from the beginning.

At the Battle of Unnumbered Tears (Nirnaeth Arnoediad), Húrin was captured by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord and the source of all evil in Middle-earth.

Morgoth cursed Húrin and his children, declaring that all their deeds would bring ruin and sorrow.

Húrin was then bound to a seat on Thangorodrim and forced to watch the unfolding tragedy of his family.

Back in Dor-lómin, the Easterlings occupied the land. Morwen, fearing for her son’s safety, sent the young Túrin, only nine years old, to the hidden Elven realm of Doriath, ruled by Thingol and Melian the Maia. She remained behind, pregnant with their second child, Niënor.

Túrin was welcomed by Thingol and raised in splendor, growing strong, proud, and skilled in arms under the guidance of the Elf Beleg Cúthalion, his closest friend. Yet his pride and temper were dangerous.

During a confrontation with a rude counselor named Saeros, Túrin struck him down. Saeros fled but fell to his death.
